Welcome to Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition Inc
Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition (GSE) is a not-for-profit incorporated association that aims to:
- Organise the Gippsland Sculpture Exhibition and associated activities, normally held on a biennial basis;
- Work with the Gippsland community to promote art, artistic pursuits and enhance skills in the community;
- Promote community connectivity and inclusiveness and increase health and wellbeing;
- Nurture community resilience, adaptability and sustainability; and
- Increase tourism and economic activity through promoting Yinnar as the Sculpture Culture Capital of Gippsland.
Why Join?
Involvement in an outstanding artistic exhibition and community event.
You’ll be part of an event that is becoming an important feature in both the Sculptural and the Yinnar & District calendar. Sculptors from all over Australia are entering the exhibition because they love the vibe, appreciate the support from locals, get to meet other artists and compete for serious prize money, thanks to our generous sponsors. Your involvement supports artists to achieve their goals and builds local capacity for the town to thrive. The GSE draws the community together to build social connectedness and to create resilience where members feel part of something special.
To be social
You don’t have to be “arty” to become a member of the GSE. Our people come from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. We all have stories to tell. GSE is a great way to meet other people who want to be part of an inclusive community group, whose common goal is to promote and enjoy the good things the Sculpture Culture Capital of Gippsland has to offer. Yes, you get to wear our t-shirt any day of the year to encourage other community members to get involved too.
GSE Roles
- If you are looking for a way to gently become part of the community or want to launch head-strong into community event management, this is the group for you.
- Every two years we hold the actual exhibition through the streets and galleries in Yinnar and District but there’s always work going on behind the scenes.
- Our members are actively engaged in a range of activities in preparation for the biennial event. There’s always a list of roles that require filling, such as organising the sponsorship and raffle, being a treasurer and looking after the financial resources, social media, front-of-house, cleaning the loos and bins during the event, marshalls, website management, volunteer coordinator and the list goes on…we always need bodies.
